France's Bartoli advances to Paris final

PARIS, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Hometown heroine Marion Bartoli defeated Klara Zakopalova Saturday to advance to the finals of the Open GDF Suez in Paris.

The second-seeded Bartoli beat her Czech opponent 7-6 (2-7), 6-0 and will take on Germany's Angelique Kerber Sunday in the finals.

Kerber, the No 9 seed, knocked off Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium 6-7 (2-7), 6-3, 6-4 Saturday. She had upset top-seeded Maria Sharapova in the quarterfinals Friday.

Bartoli will play in her first finals since October and is looking to become the first French woman to win the Open GDF Suez since Amelie Mauresmo in 2009.

Bartoli dominated Saturday in first and second-serve points and was 5-of-6 on break points.
