ZAGREB, CROATIA – Half an hour before the start of the Snow King slalom race in Zagreb`s Mount Sljeme, the fans relentlessly honked their horns, as if Ivica Kostelic was already storming down the
track. Despite the fog and low temperatures, numerous fans took their positions to support all the skiers, mostly because of Ivica.
However, the citizens were not the only supports, Sljeme welcomed many politicians and celebrities, including smiling Jospia Lisac, the legendary Croatian singer.
- This is my first time here. I expect a good time and great skiing – always cheerful Josipa Lisac told us, who was wearing a pink little bonnet.
Although it was clear that there are less fans than last year, supporters` props show the atmosphere was scorching hot. Zagreb Holding company director Ivo Covic shared this view as well:
- The competition is exceptionally tough, there are many good slalom skiers who can win, but of course, I expect Ivica to win. There are fewer people than last year, but this is probably because there are so many skiing fans who set out for ski resorts throughout Europe – Covic told us.
