Blanka Vlasic was a guest on IAAF’s chat leading up to the last meeting of the Golden Leage in Brussels.
Leading up to the last meeting of the Golden League in Brussels, which is scheduled for September 5, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) decided to give fans of “the queen of sports” an opportunity to communicate with one of the biggest stars in world athletics, the Croatian high jumper Blanka Vlasic.
Athletics fans will have an opportunity to talk via chat on the website of the IAAF (www.iaaf.org) on Thursday at 9pm. This is more proof of the star status of the best Croatian sportswoman.
There are only two people left in the race for the one million dollar jackpot: Croatia’s high jumper Blanka Vlasic and Kenya’s Olympic 800m winner Pamela Jelimo.
All of the best female high jumpers will be in Brusells. Apart from Blanka, in attendance will be the Olympic winner Tia Hellebaut, the Olympic bronze medal winner Ana Cicerova, and the former Olympic winner Jelena Slesarenko, as well as the German Ariane Freidrich.
Last year Blanka missed out on the “jackpot” because she did not win at the first meeting of the Golden League in Oslo (when Slesarenko was first). Now she will arrive in Brussels with five wins and a great chance of finishing another great seasons successfully.
“This is like going to the Olympic Games twice in a short period of time”, said Blanka Vlasic leading up to the competition in Belgium.
After Zurich, Blanka finally found a good rhythm between training and rest. She respects her rivals, but she is more concerned about the weather, because rain is expected.
There will be 50 thousand spectators in Brussels, and the women’s high jump starts at 7:45pm.
