JANUARY 5 2009 10:22h
After being examined in an Innsbruck hospital, it was decided that Nicole Hosp will not require surgery.
Austrian skier Nicole Hops (25) will have to take a month and a half break due to injuring her left knee ligaments while warming up before the first ladies` slalom race of the Snow Queen Trophy of the World Cup at Zagreb`s Mount Sljeme.
This means that Hosp, who is currently sixth in the total World Cup rankings, will have to miss the World Championship from February 3 until 15 un Val d`Iser.
After being examined in an Innsbruck hospital, it was decided that Nicole Hosp will not require surgery, but will be recovering with intense therapy.
Hosp`s injury is the second big loss for the Austrian ladies` national team, which lost last year`s best slalom skier Marlies Schild at the start of the season, because of an injury.
