CHARLEROI, Belgium, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Jelena Jankovic leads Serbia into a Fed Cup quarterfinal this weekend against Belgium, a team the Serbs have never beaten.

Jankovic, No. 13 in the world, is the highest ranked player in the Serbia-Belgium best-of-five series. The matches will be played on a hard court in Charleroi, Belgium.

The series winner earns a spot in the April 21-22 semifinals against the survivor of a series between Russia and Spain.

Belgium is 2-0 against the Serbs but both series -- in 1975 and 1991 -- were prior to the Yugoslav split.

Jankovic goes against Kirsten Flipkens in the first match Saturday before Serbian Bojana Jovanovski goes against Belgian Yanina Wickmayer in the other.

Wickmayer and Jankovic are to meet in Sunday's opener followed by a match between Jovanovski and Flipkens.

The deciding match, if necessary, has the Serbian doubles team of Jankovic and Aleksandra Krunic playing Tamaryn Hendler and Alison Van Uytvanck.
