The father of Japans former world light flyweight champion Koki Kameda is in trouble again over a furious outburst after a bout last month.
Kameda's Kyoei Gym is set to apologise to Japanese boxing officials after Shiro Kameda insulted the referee following his son's lightweight debut, according to a Japanese newspaper.
Some members of the Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) have demanded that Shiro Kameda, who also acts as trainer for his three boxing sons, has his license suspended.
But Kyoei's chairman Keiichiro Kanehira said a written apology would be handed to the JBC after the elder Kameda's latest brush with controversy.
"I've spoken to the father," Kanehira was quoted as saying by Japan's Sports Hochi daily on Saturday. "We will go and see (the JBC) with a proper written letter."
Shiro, 41, was furious with the referee despite Koki making a successful step-up to flyweight with a unanimous points win over Mexico's Everardo Morales on March 24.
Last year Shiro escaped punishment after becoming embroiled in a brawl following a bout involving second son Daiki.
The Kamedas have divided the loyalty of boxing fans in Japan with their brash, outspoken behaviour.
