Ivo Karlovic secured himself a place in the second round of the strong tennis tournament in the US San Jose
Our tennis player was better than the Spanish Gullermo Garcia-Lopez with 6-3, 7-6 in less than 90 minutes. 'Giant from Salata (Zagreb tennis court) opened the match better, and reacted energetically, to the Garcia-Lopez's service. He did not use his two break balls, but he did take the one in 3-2, which was the only break in the match.
In the second set, the situation was different. In the fourth, sixth and tenth game Karlo had to save break balls, and the winner was established only after a tie break. Ivo does the first mini break in a decisive game, but the Spanish soon returns it. The second match ball at 8-7 Garcia Lopez did not manage to save, and thus Karlo got into the second round, where he will play with the winner of the match between the American Blake and the Russian Kunjicin.
