Niko Kranjcar dismissed the possibility of Portsmouth playing for a draw with Wofsburg in the fourth round of the Uefa Cup.
Portsmouth will try to win the match against Wofsburg, which then need in order to secure passing through. The Germans need a point to qualify. But Croatia’s Niko Kranjcar believes Portsmouth’s attacker instinct will not allow them to play for a draw.
- 'I don't think we can play for a draw. If you look over the past couple of weeks you can see that. 'If my mathematics are right, if Heerenveen win against Braga we can even lose in Wolfsburg and win our final game and go through – Kranjcar said.
However, who relies on mathematics does not always get it right. So Kranjcar’s team is concentrating on the match.
- I think we have to go out there and play our best football. We'll see what happens after that. 'The win against Blackburn was great. It was our first since Sunderland and important because it's something we can build on. Hopefully we can get a couple of wins on the back of that – starting with Wolfsburg – Kranjcar said.
Niko successfully recovered from a minor injury on his wrist and may play in the first 11 in the match.
