Larkham Faces Test Before Australia Meet Wales

Australia and Wales meet on Saturday in a match likely to decide the winner of World Cup Pool B.

Australia and Wales meet on Saturday in a match likely to decide the winner of World Cup Pool B while title favourites New Zealand take on rank outsiders Portugal. The Wallabies are strongly fancied to win at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium after opening their campaign with a 91-3 thrashing of Japan while Wales struggled to beat Canada 42-17.

Australia flyhalf Stephen Larkham faces a fitness test after aggravating a knee injury in training on Friday.

The All Blacks have promised to approach their Pool C game against Portugal in Lyon the same way as any other match.

New Zealand have also vowed to raise their standards after a 76-14 destruction of Italy. Portugal have simply said their aim is to do better than the Azzurri.

In the day's other match, Ireland meet a Georgia side who showed earlier in the week against Argentina they are capable of putting up serious resistance.

Ireland will aim to pick up a bonus point for scoring more than four tries in the Pool D clash in Bordeaux to ensure they are top of the group when they face hosts France on Sept. 21.
