Ljubicic: I Am Prepared To Take Zagreb By Storm!

Text

Ivan Ljubicic is the first player of PBZ Zagreb Indoors and does not run from the role of being the favourite in Zagreb.

After his early kicking off the Australian Open, Ivan Ljubicic went to Monte Carlo where he trained for five days and prepared for the continuation of the season. He was not very satisfied at the start of the season.

-- I won Doha and that is a big thing to start the season off with a title. In Australia I fell off early and I cannot be happy with that. I can say that on a scale of 1 to 10, the start of the season would be a five, Ljubicic said.

Although many players have cancelled their appearances on Zagreb Indoors, Ivan believes the tournament to be strong. He does not run from the role of favourite, though.

-- I am not running from the role of favourite, not all players have cancelled, Baghdatis is here who is an excellent player and he was not expected in Zagreb. I think that every tournament whose last player is among the top 100 is excellent. It will be difficult to defend the title, but with an excellent audience and conditions that suit me, I can reach a new trophy.

After the tournament in Zagreb, Ljubicic will head to Krefeld for the first round of the Davis Cup between Germany and Croatia.

The main part of the PBZ Indoors Zagreb tournament starts Monday and Croatia has four representatives – Ivan Ljubicic, Ivo karlovic, Marin Cilic and Roko Karanusic.
