Valladolid were also involved in the match credited with the fastest penalty in the history of the Spanish league.

Valladolid striker Joseba Llorente scored the fastest ever goal in the Primera Liga when he put the ball in the net just seven seconds into his side's match at home to Espanyol on Sunday.

Llorente, who had scored four goals in the league and King's Cup in his side's last two games, raced on to a long pass from Victor straight from the kickoff and clipped the ball over keeper Inaki Lafuente with his toe.

He also scored his side's second goal 12 minutes before halftime, firing in from the left side of the area.

The previous fastest goal in the first division was credited to Uruguayan Dario Silva who scored for Malaga eight seconds into their 3-1 win over Valladolid in December 2000.

Valladolid were also involved in the match credited with the fastest penalty in the history of the Spanish league. Striker Fernando Fernandez converted after the referee pointed to the spot in the 13th second of a game against Celta Vigo in March 2001.
