UMAG, Croatia, July 30 (UPI) -- Marin Cilic earned a berth in the finals of the Croatia Open Saturday with a semifinal victory over sixth-seeded Fabio Fognini.

The fourth-seeded Cilic ousted Fognini 6-2, 6-2 to become the first Croat to make the Croatia Open finals since the tournament began in 1990.

Cilic will face the winner of Saturday's match between second-seeded Alexandr Dolgopolov and defending tournament champion Juan Carlos Ferrero.

Cilic broke serve five times in eight chances and won 76 percent of his first-serve point opportunities.
