Italian Manfred Moelgg clocked the fastest time in the first leg of a World Cup slalom on Sunday.

Moelgg finished in 52.43 seconds to beat Austrian Reinfried Herbst by 0.31 seconds.

Croatia's Ivica Kostelic was third 0.64 seconds off the pace with slalom World Cup leader Jean-Baptiste Grange of France in fourth place 0.05 seconds further behind.
