The striker was not with the Germany squad in Hanover on Sunday for the memorial service for goalkeeper Robert Enke.
Striker Miroslav Klose was on Sunday told to stay away from the Germany squad for Wednesday's friendly against the Ivory Coast despite getting the all-clear after a four-day quarantine for swine flu.
Both the Bayern Munich star, the top scorer at the last World Cup, and his wife Sylwia were quarantined last Wednesday after their four-year-old twin sons Noah and Luan were discovered to both be suffering from the H1N1 virus.
Neither of the couple showed signs of the virus and were allowed to leave quarantine on Saturday, but Germany coach Joachim Loew has told Klose, 31, to stay home and not join the squad for the match in Gelsenkirchen.
The striker was not with the Germany squad in Hanover on Sunday for the memorial service for goalkeeper Robert Enke, who committed suicide last Tuesday.
Around 40,000 fans and colleagues from across German football were at Hanover 96's stadium to pay their last respects to Enke, who was set to travel with the Germany squad to next year's World Cup in South Africa.
