Osijek 2006 is preparing for the new season and has already acquired some known players
Zoran Helbich returned from Czech Republic where he spent last season playing for BBK Brno while 24-year-old native of Osijek Ivan Krolo got back from French Le Mans.
Except for those two players, coach Ivan Fulgosi has another 12 players at his disposal: Drazen Tankosic, Ivan Duvancic, Zvonimir Tucakovic, Aljosa Sarac, Boris Dugandzic, Igor Skrlec, Marko Soldo, Luka Hrgovic, Luka Boras, Kristijan Krajina and Dino Rados.
One of Osijek’s best players from the last season Domagoj Kesina is still looking for a new team and if the search isn’t successful, there’s a big chance he will stay in Osijek for another year. 22-year-old Dragan Dugum arrived from second division team and signed 3-year deal.
“We will give more opportunity to young players and I believe keeping our place in the first division is realistic goal. Of course, we’re hoping to clinch a place in the A-1 Championship Stage which would bring top Croatian teams in Osijek and popularize basketball in the town”, club’s president Goran Baric said.
This season Veljko Budimir left the team to join Svjetlost from Slavonski Brod while Dejan Meznaric and Marko Mandic went to second division team Vrijednosnice OS Darda.
