Sochaux coach Alain Perrin will meet Olympique Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas.

Sochaux coach Alain Perrin will meet Olympique Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas on Tuesday and is likely to take over from the departing Gerard Houllier as coach of the six-times French champions, sources close to the club said on Monday. Former Portsmouth and Olympique Marseille coach Perrin, 50, led Sochaux to their first French Cup victory since 1937 earlier this month. He said last week he had been contacted by Aulas and was interested in the Lyon job.

Former France and Liverpool manager Houllier, 59, said on Friday he was leaving Lyon after leading them to two consecutive Ligue 1 titles.

Under Houllier's guidance, Lyon failed to make an impact in Europe, falling in the first knockout round of the Champions League this season and in the quarter-finals last year
