Phelps Sets 400m Individual Medley World Record

Michael Phelps of the United States broke his own world record in the final of the men's 400 metres individual medley.

Michael Phelps of the United States broke his own world record in the final of the men's 400 metres individual medley at the world championships on Sunday.

Phelps, 21, won the gold in four minutes 06.22 seconds to wipe 2.04 seconds off the previous mark of 4:08.26 which he set at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
