Referees Make 23 Mistakes Against Croatia

Text

The Croatian Handball Association claims that the World Handball Championship will be the only profitable Croatian sports event.

“According to preliminary data, 143,542 tickets were sold, whilst another 30,000 were handed out to sponsors” said the president of the Croatian Handball Association (HRS) Sandi Sola at a press conference. He added that the exact data will be available in one month’s time.

Two cities did not pay a cent

Preliminary Data

Tickets sold: 143,542

Tickets handed out: 30,000

The HRS still has some problems in cities, because some have not paid their debt, so all of the responsibility falls on the association to pay expenses. Two cities have not paid a cent, and up until now, the association has received around nine million kuna of the total 19 million that they should receive.

The most money was spent on accommodation, and the most money was received from entry tickets and marketing. The HRS claims that the World Handball Championship that was held will be profitable, unlike other sports events.

“We have nothing to be afraid of and we will publicly state the exact number. This is the only sports event that will end profitable in the end,” explained Zoran Gobac, the executive vice-president of HRS.

More than 1,500 media covered the spectacular event, with which the HRS raised the ladder of organization too high, and the picture was broadcast by more than 75 television stations, and this was the second most watched event in Croatia.

Catastrophic results of expertise

"We have nothing to be afraid of and we will publicly state the exact number. This is the only sports event that will end profitable in the end".
Even though slightly more than a week has passed since France beat Croatia in the final, Gobac has still not gotten over the referees that greatly influenced the outcome of the final.

“We all know that France was being helped due to the refereeing in Germany where they were ‘damaged’. Before the finals we knew that we received the Danes to ‘rip us off’” said Zoran Gobac.

As he announced, a four-member group will watch the final in order to notice the oversights by the referees.

“One expertise is over, and it is a catastrophe. The ratio of refereeing mistakes is 23:3 against Croatia,” said the executive vice-president on the results of the expertise that clearly speaks that the referees refereed in favour of the French.

At the press conference, they also mentioned the attacked handball player Ivan Pesic who is currently out of life danger.

“His recovery is going in a good direction, and his life is not in danger. Considering his build and physical condition, one kidney should be enough to continue his career,” said the president of the medical commission of the Croatian Handball Association, Mladen Miskulin.
