Russia Barely Beats Algeria, Brazil Wins

Text

South Korea took new points winning against Cuba, and if Croatia beats Spain, they will decide themselves about entering the second round.

Around one thousand spectators watched the match between Romania and Australia, which the Romanians won convincingly 40:20. Romania’s national team led by Marian Cozma, only allowed the Australians to score 9 points in the first half, which they were convincingly winning 21:9.

Cozma finished the match with impressive statistics. He scored ten goals out of ten attempts.

The best player for Australia was Blodnel, with eight points, of which he scored seven in the second half. The Romanian goalkeepers managed to achieve 20 saves, of which Barza achieved 11, and Popes did 9.

The Australian goalkeepers had 13 saves. Ognjen Latinovic defended ten shots, whilst Varkanitsas managed only three.

-.-Ernest Pelaić-.-Russians have a hard time against Algeria

On the wings of Filippov and Rastvorsev, Russia has come to two new points in their match against Algeria, who did not give up easily. The Russians celebrated 29:28 after they led the first half 17:14. At the 58th minute, the score was equal 28:28, and Dibirov brought the win to Russia with his fourth goal.

Filippov scored nine goals in Russia’s new victory, whilst Rastvortsev added seven.

The highest scorer in Algeria’s team was Boudrali with six goals.

South Korea expectedly beat Cuba. The first name of the match was Jaewoo Lee, who scored ten goals, whilst Jeong Yikyeong added six. The Koreans won convincingly 31:26, and took important points, because if Croatia beats Spain, Korea has an opportunity to enter the second round if they beat Spain themselves in the next match. In that situation, Korea would have six points and Spain would have four.

Saudi Arabia and Argentina still without points

In Porec, Brazil were expectedly better than Saudi Arabia with 26:24. At half time they had a 14:10 lead, which led then to an easy victory. Brazil gathered new points after they surprised Serbia.

The Hungarians easily beat Argentina 31:20. At half time the score was a high 17:8, and the match only flowed in one direction, to a new loss for Argentina, who have not won any points.
