A flag was taken from a handball volunteer´s car, burned, and thrown onto the parking lot.
POREC, CROATIA - Even though Serbia’s fans praised Croatia for their hospitality, some of them used the opportunity to provoke and do things that are not linked to sport. So one of the volunteers for the World Handball Championship saw a burned flag on his car, writes Parentium.
Somebody broke the flag off his car and burned it, which caused amazement and disbelief in him, especially because he knew how everyone tried so hard to make the Serbs feel at home, and that nobody attacks them, or even looks at them badly.
“It is disappointing that these things still occur, but they certainly need to be mentioned, regardless that we will be the world champions” was the comment on the whole event.
The event will certainly not contribute to a calm atmosphere, as well as the hospitality of the hosts, who have tried with all their might to make their guests happy, and somebody returned this in the worst possible way, and in doing so probably endangered other Serbian fans that have nothing to do with these provocations.
