Shaq splits with wife

O'Neal, 37, has won four NBA crowns during a glittering career, including three with the Los Angeles Lakers and one at Miami.

BA superstar Shaquille O'Neal is splitting with his wife of seven years after she filed for legal separation in Los Angeles, court documents showed Tuesday.

Shaunie O'Neal, who married the former NBA Most Valuable Player in 2002, filed papers in Los Angeles on Tuesday citing "irreconcilable differences" for the breakdown of the couple's marriage.

The legal move comes two years after Shaq filed for divorce from his wife in 2007 in Florida. The couple, who have four children together, were later reunited and the divorce proceedings were withdrawn.

O'Neal, 37, has won four NBA crowns during a glittering career, including three with the Los Angeles Lakers and one at Miami. He joined the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer in a quest for a fifth title.
