The largest caterpillar was organised in the world, to honour the start of the World Handball Championship.
SPLIT, CROATIA – During these days of the handball fever, executive board of the city of Split has organised various contents which will surely please the most different of tastes.
Split will enjoy the entertaining programme
A “Fan Zone” will be organised at Split`s Prokurative in the form of a large tent where supporters can gather. Matches will be broadcast there live on large screens, and on the days when the Croatian handball team plays, three big concerts will be held. Thus, Marijan Ban and the Dikratori will perform on January 16, Gazde on January 21 and Jelena Rozga on January 22. Other days will include an entertainment programme with bands Flesh, Bravo bend and Fantastico.
The organisers announced the performance of young Split bands on January 17 th when a special jury will chose the best band, which will get the opportunity to record a song at the Split Tetrapak studio.
Split`s Waterfront, which they call the most beautiful promenade in the world, will become “Planet Riva” (meaning Planet Waterfront) with six houses that will represent the colours of each country that will perform in Split, of the B group: Kuwait, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Cuba and Croatia.

On Thursday, to honour the start of the World Handball Championship, the largest caterpillar in the world was organised, which was headed by Split Major Ivan Kuret. “The caterpillar” is otherwise a dance the Croatian handball team does after a victory.
