The World Handball Championship was much more interesting that yesterday, because the Swedes, Germans and Hungarians played good handball.
The World Handball Championship has entered its third day, and viewers could see more interesting matches today than the previous days. This mostly refers to the matches between Tunis and Germany, Korea and Sweden, and the match between Romania and Hungary was not bad either.
Sweden takes easy win against fast Korea
Even though the Asian champions held Croatia in suspense until the last minute, they did not have an easy time against the Scandinavians.
The Swedes took control at the very beginning of the match, and went to half time with a four point advantage, regardless of Korea catching up at one point to minus two points. It ended a high 31:25.
The Swedes used their physical strength and height well, and easily battled the (too)fast Asians. They even counter attacked many more times, even though speed was very mush so on the side of the Koreans. They obviously tactically set themselves up very well, and the Croatian team will have a tough job against Sweden, who have obviously come back to the scene.
Tunis nearly surprises Germany
The Germans played against Tunis in Varazdin, which was a slight surprise. The current champions are not in their real form, they do not have so many players, and after a gift from the Danish referee against the Russians, they had a hard time against the Africans.
The match was quite equalised all until the end, when finally, but again from a suspicious situation, the Germans take a two point lead as well as the win. The result was 26:24, and it hard to believe that Germany will succeed to do something more significant against Poland.
Hungary barely take win against Romania
A real little drama took place in Osijek. The Romanians who were convincingly beaten by the French, offered strong resistance to the Hungarians. During the whole match, the Romanians held the lead, and even 20 minutes before the end they had a five point advantage. However, they softened up and Hungary gathered their ranks and won 30:27.
The most uninteresting match was between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. There were no shocks or surprises, Egypt won 26:18. It was not so convincing, because they were still under the impression of the loss against Serbia, but their win was not in question at any moment.
