The most cases of swine flu in Europe have been recorded in Catalonia, which is why it is dangerous to race there.
Swine flu has spread panic all over the world, and sport is not immune to it either. The organizers of the next Formula One race, those in Spain, could be forced to cancel the whole event.
There is still time before the race, which is scheduled for May 10, in order to neutralise or solve the swine flu problem. If it is not solved, many people will be unhappy, because all 60,000 tickets were sold.
Fernando Alonso could also be very unhappy, who traditionally ranks very well in Spain. He considers the Circuit de Catalunya track as his own, which is why he performs better than other drivers there.
However, the most cases of swine flu in Europe have been recorded in Catalonia, and it would be unacceptable to allow anybody to be exposed to the risk. More than a hundred people have died in Mexico, which confirms how serious the situation is.
