Reigning Olympic silver medallist Martina Schild of Switzerland injured her knee during the first World Cup downhill training here on Wednesday.

Schild was taken to hospital to undergo tests, in a further pre-Olympic Games scare for the Swiss women's team already deprived of double world silver medallist Lara Gut (hip) and Franzi Aufdenblatten (knee).

The training run was headed by Austrian Elisabeth Goergl, who clocked 1min 41.08sec, 0.04sec ahead of American Julia Mancuso, with Sweden's Anja Paerson in third.

American speed queen Lindsey Vonn was content with a 15th place in 1:42.28.
