Tomo Sokota is approaching a new transfer. If he plays for Fortuna, he would receive a smaller salary than he did in Dinamo.
Two experienced attackers, Bosko Balaban and Tomo Sokota, are looking for new clubs, seeing how they are free players at the moment.
Tomo Sokota might settle down in Germany soon, while Bosko Balaban is departing for Greek Panionios Propao at the last moment, media report.
Dusseldorf-based Fortuna used to be a synonym of power in German football. However, this golden era has long since ended. Fortuna played in the Winners` Cup final 30 years ago, but after that, everything went downhill.
Otto Rehhagel, Klus Allofs and Georg Koch played for Fortuna, and Croat Sokota might follow soon. The club has the support of fans and often has a packed stadium (51,500 seats).
Riding the wind of the fans, Fortuna has succeeded in qualifying for the second league and the club wants more. If he signs for Fortuna, Sokota`s salary might be significantly smaller than in Dinamo. A sum of 200,000 euro per year is mentioned.
Sokota is 32 years old, while he has only played in Croatia and Portugal.
