Francesco Totti’s dog was the first to notice that the girl needed help, although it was her first time on a Coast Guard inflatable boat.
Francesco Totti’s Labrador, Ariel, saved a girl who was about to drown at about 150 meters offshore from the Italian city of Ostia, Italian media report.
Ariel is training to become a professional sea rescuer. On Saturday at about 11 am, Ariel proved her efforts were worth something when she saved a 23-year-old girl who found herself in difficulty while swimming offshore.
The dog of Roma A.S.’s captain was on a Coast Guard inflatable boat for the first time, and was the first to notice the girl waving her hands. She swam towards her and started pulling her towards the coast.
- Ariel is still young, she will reach age of majority in half a year, then she will be even able to dive from helicopters – said Alessandro Mango, Ariel’s trainer.
