Australia is home of many Croatian and Serbian immigrants who are not tolerant and although they have been living outside their homeland for two or three generations, express love fore their ancestors` homeland in a wrong way. Tennis matches are no exception.
During the second round of the Australian Open, as Marin Cilic of Croatia and Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia played, a minor showdown between their fans occurred, causing two persons to be sent off the stalls and banned from accessing the rest of the tournament.
- Serbian and Croatian supporters were not decent, singing songs which have nothing to do with tennis, but the history of these two countries - Janko Tipsarevic said.
Seeing how 150 persons were kicked out two years ago, the police reacted in time and prevented any possible clash. Just insulting cheers were heard, headed by the Serbs, but only because they out-numbered the Croats.
If the Australians were to follow the example of Canada, they would have it easier. Before a waterpolo match between Serbia and Croatia, they threatened to deport every possible broiler from Canada.
Therefore, it is sufficient to threaten everyone with deportation back to their homeland, on behalf of which they fight and insult, and they will keep quiet. Perhaps, they will be more aware that their behaviour is just an act.
