VIDEO: Cro Cop Defeats Giant Choi With Knee Kick

Text

Some five minutes into the fight, Mirko kicked the Korean giant in the knee and won the unattractive fight.

After the annulled fight against Overeem, the time has come for a new challenge for Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic: Korean giant Hong Man Choi, who has so far not managed to shock the Dream world, despite being 218 cm tall and weighing 150 kilos.

Careful approach against the vast opponent-.--.-Mirko Filipovic fights Hong Man Choi

The start of the fight looked a bit terrifying, Hong Man Choi looked surreally large next to Mirko. Over 30 cm and 50 kilo difference seemed more powerful than the Croatian fighter`s experience.

However, Cro Cop entered the match very smart. It was noticeable that he prepared himself well. He dodged his rival and low kicked and middle kicked him whenever he got the chance to. He even performed an excellent high kick, because of which Choi had to be additionally careful.

As if they were trying not to fight, with short breaks because the gloves of both fighters were clumsily put on and kept separating from their fists. At one point, the exceptionally slow Korean sumo fighter managed to corner Filipovic.

That moment seemed highly dangerous because Choi wanted to knock Mirko down on the floor and solve everything in his benefit, as he has more advantage on the floor, rather than standing up. However, Cro Cop removed the threat with his abundant experience and continued as planned.

He wanted to wear down his opponent, but this wore down the judges as well as the audience, so both fighters were reprimanded for not being active, which brought 30 percent less of profit. As if this shook them up a bit and they exchanged a few punches. Mirko performed an awkward middle kick, resulting in pain in the most painful spot for any man. Almost as if Filipovic had his vengeance subconsciously for the kicks inflicted by Overeem, and Kongo previously.

Mirko definitely not back in the UFC

-.--.-Mirko Filipovic fights Hong Man ChoiChoi had to request a short break, to make the pain go away, but it was noticeable that the ramp on his face was not just due to the kick in the groins, but because of fatigue as well. Mirko saw this and started the attack. He forwarded one kick in the Koran giant`s knee and this was it. A painful cheer, just like when he kicked Sapp in the kidney. Mirko waited for a long time to raise his arms in a victorious fashion.

- I would like to thank the audience for the support and the Dream organisation for the fight they offered to me. I know it was not an attractive fight, but fighting against such an opponent, I had to be smart about it – Mirko said after the fight, pointing out that he will undergo a knee ligament surgery on January 2, but he will be back in the Dream ring in six months` time.

This means that clearly the return to the UFC will not happen. Cro Cop obviously feels at ease in Japan, where he is the number one man. However, he surely finds fighting in the ring easier than fighting in a cage.

Mirko won and cast a large chip off his shoulders, and the critics, who say his time has passed, will keep quite for a while, at least.
