VideoEduardo da Silva gave a radio interview for Arsenal in which he commented on his injury during yesterday’s game.
During yesterday’s game against Portsmouth, in which Arsenal’s Eduardo da Silva played for the first time since his serious injury back in February, he suffered yet another injury. This time it was his hamstring.
He was pulled out of the match at half-time.

After the game, Eduardo da Silva gave a radio interview for Arsenal which you can hear in the audio file "Eduardo’s Interview" attached to the article.
- At this moment I feel better and very happy. After three months I started my first game and of course, I hope I can do more. But for now with this first game I’m very happy and next time it will be better – he said.
Asked about Eduardo coming off at half time and how he felt, he said:
- Yes, I’m alright. I just felt something in my hamstring, but I think that in two weeks I will be alright.
Asked about the last ten months during which Eduardo da Silva was recovering from his injury, he said:
- That situation with the injury was very hard for me, but I got treatment in Brazil and my family and friends made me strong.
Now I’m very happy. Today I played, the first half-time Atkinson pushed me out there. But I think it’ll be alright – Eduardo said.
Eduardo especially thanked his fans and team-players for their support, especially his fans in Croatia.
Asked when Eduardo will be expected to play for the first team, he said:
- At this moment I need more training, more games like this and I think I will be back soon. I think I’ll be alright to play in two weeks.
Speaking about da Silva playing for the Croatian national football team for the World Cup qualifiers, the Brazilian-born Croatian striker said:
- I like to play for Arsenal and for Croatia. We’ll see. I think the next game will be in February and I think I will be ready then.
