The winning basket was scored by Roger Mason 10 seconds before the end when an in game shot was fouled by Derek Fisher.

The Toronto Raptors suffered their third loss in a row in the NBA league, unexpectedly losing a home match from direct playoff competitors the Chicago Bulls for 98-102.

The first choice in last year’s draft, Derrick Rose, was excellent in the last quarter, who scored 17 of his 25 points in that part of the game. However, the key move was made by Joakim Noah, whilst the score was 100-98 for the Bulls, who blocked Chris Bosh’s “equalisation attempt” shot six seconds before the end. Then Luol Deng scored both free throws for 102-98.

Apart from scoring 25 points, Rose has 10 assists, whilst the Italian Andrea Bargnani, the first choice for the 2006 draft, achieved a career best with 31 points and 10 jumps. The Croatian representative Roko-Leni Ukic scored four points in 23 minutes, with one jump and two assists.

In the derby of the night, at a home game, the San Antonio Spurs beat the Los Angeles Lakers 112-111. The winning basket was scored by Roger Mason, 10 seconds before the end of the end of the match when Derek Fisher made a foul, and gave the Spurs an opportunity for free throws. In the final attack, the Lakers did not even manage to send the ball towards the basket. Emanuel Ginobili was the top scorer for the Spurs with 27 points, and Kobe Bryant was the top scorer for the Lakers with 29 points and 10 assists.

The best individual score of the night was by the New Orleans Hornets defender Chris Paul, who in their 104-97 win against the Dallas Mavericks achieved his fourth triple-double of the season with 33 points, 11 assists and 10 jumps, and added seven steals.

The top scorer for the Mavs was Jason Terry with 28 points.

The top ranking Boston Celtics easily beat the New Jersey Nets 118-86, and recorded their third win in a row. Paul Pierce was the top scorer for the Celtics with 22 points, and Devin Harris was the best the Nets has with 17 points.

At a home match, the Indiana Pacers finally gained overtime this season in their fifth attempt, beating the Detroit Pistons 110-106. At the end of the fourth quarter the Pistons had a 93-91 lead, but Prince missed a free throw, and they had an attack where they missed two shots in offence. Granger then scored for overtime, in which the Pacers found their way to victory. Danny Granger was the top scorer for the Pacers with 24 points and 10 jumps, and Rodney Stuckey was the best for the Pistons with 30 points.

The teams from the bottom of the ladder, the Golden State warriors and the Sacramento Kings played three overtimes before the guests from Sacramento managed to win 135-133. Brad Miller led the Kings with 30 points and 22 jumps, and Jamal Crawford led the Warriors with 35 points.
