Vori: We Were Not Allowed To Win In The Final

Text

Congratulations to France, they were better, but clearly pressure from the outside was crucial, commented Igor Vori.

Defeats are difficult, especially on home ground, before the home audience. It is no wonder that the Croatian team left the court with their heads down. Only Igor Vori addressed the media and spoke his mind.

- Congratulations to France, they were better. I would swap my best player prize for the gold in this championship. Clearly pressure from the outside was crucial. I have a feeling we were not allowed to win – Vori said.

Mario Ćužić-.--.-Croatian captain Petar Metlicic displayed his dissatisfaction with the referees on the court, but he did not turn on the justice presenters after the match.

- There is no shame in losing to France, they were too tough a rival. We fought like lions, but they are really strong physically – said the captain of the Croatian team.

Croatian selector Lino Cervar did not look back on the Danish referees either, he congratulated France on their deserved win, saying he was proud of their second place and with everything the players displayed in this championship.

Cervar proud of his team

- The lads gave it their best and I am very proud of them. We were defeated only twice in 20 matches during the past two World Championships – Cervar said, aware that they were defeated by France both times.

The selector of the new world champions was not the least bit disappointed with the treatment after the final; he congratulated Croatia, praised their audience and pointed out he was exceptionally happy that his team achieved this magnificent result against powerful Croatia, on their home ground. Best French player Nikola Karabatic shared his view.

- I`m really happy, because I added another gold medal to my collection. I must admit I was exceptionally fulfilled with this and it was important seeing everyone celebrating out success – Karabatic said.
