Alberto Zaccheroni is no longer coaching Italian first league club Torino. Gianni de Biasi is the new coach.
After the weak results in the spring part of the season, Torino president Urbano Cairo decided to replace Alberto Zaccheroni. The defeat against the club's direct rival for staying in the league, Chievo, was crucial. The 3-0 defeat in Verona has marked the end of Zaccheroni's coaching days in Turin.
The club did not wait for a new coach too long. To the wonder of many, Zaccheroni was replaced by his predecessor on the bench, Gianni de Biasi. De Biasi was supposed to coach Torino this season, but he inexplicably stepped down from the position only a day before the championship started.
Zaccheroni is the eighth coach who has not kept his job until the end of the championship this season in Italy.
Torino currently has 22 points and is ranked in the 16th place in the championship, but only two points away from the spot that leads to Serie B.
