BELGRADE, Serbia, May 12 (UPI) -- Serbian police arrested six people suspected of making and selling amphetamine drugs, the organized crime prosecutor's office said.

Goran Lazovic, director of Varan Chemicals in Ugrinovci, Slobodan Gmizic, Marko Zupanjac, Jovan Drca, Jovica Drobnjak and Isamedini Azizi were arrested in connection with the alleged drug manufacturing operation, Belgrade's Tanjug reported Thursday.

The illegal drugs were intended for sale in Serbia and surrounding countries, Tanjug reported.

Police continued to investigate the Ugrinovci facility and to search the suspects' homes, Tanjug said.

Organized crime investigators will interrogate the suspects, who will then appear before an investigative judge in Belgrade District Court, the newspaper said.
