Between 1985 and 2007 the killer dubbed as the `Grim Sleeper` has killed eleven women, all prostitutes.
Police in Los Angeles today released a recording of a 911 call they received in 1987 in an attempt to receive assistance in their investigation of a serial killer who killed 11 women in Los Angeles.
The 911 call was made by a man claiming to have seen a man throw a woman out of a van, then cover her with a gas tank. The caller gave the number plate of the van to the police who managed to trace it to a church close by.
Police collected DNA from the van and the killer's and choice of weapon is known, but the police are still no closer to solving the case than they were 24 years ago.
Now the police are trying to trace the caller who made the 911 call. According to the L.A. Times, police said the caller may have been giving them good information or it could have been the killer himself deliberately misleading the investigators.
In addition to the caller, detectives are attempting to find members of the now decommissioned church.
