The former financial director of Airbus has been placed under investigation as part of a probe into allegations of insider trading at EADS.

The former financial director of Airbus has been placed under investigation as part of a probe into allegations of insider trading at EADS, the Paris prosecutor's office said on Friday.

Andreas Sperl, a German national, is currently head of an EADS plant at Dresden in Germany.

He is the first person still working for EADS, the parent company of Airbus, to face police questioning in the case.
