The U.N. Security Council has the power to defer proceedings at the ICC for a year.
"(The Arab League) will send a high level delegation to the Security Council to delay the proceedings taken by the court," the group said in a statement carried on Egypt state news agency MENA.
The League, which includes Sudan, said it "stressed its solidarity with Sudan in confronting any plans targeting its sovereignty, stability, and unity".
