Turkish Transport Ministry Deputy Undersecretary Suat Hayri Aka made the comments to broadcaster CNN Turk.

Seven people died and at least 20 were injured when a Turkish Airlines passenger plane crashed at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport on Wednesday, a Turkish Transport Ministry official said, citing Dutch aviation authorities.

Turkish Transport Ministry Deputy Undersecretary Suat Hayri Aka made the comments to broadcaster CNN Turk.

Later Turkish broadcasters said up to 10 people had died.
