Morales stopped his five day hunger strike because the Bolivian Congress passes a law allowing him to candidate himself for another mandate.
President Evo Morales stopped his hunger strike on Tuesday because the Bolivian Congress passed legislation which determines the date of the next general elections to be on December 6.
The new law allows Morales, the first Bolivian president of Indian heritage, to candidate himself for one more mandate, even though he has not confirmed his candidature yet.
Morales and his close associates started their hunger strike on Thursday, accusing political opponents of trying to block the new law.
According to the new law, Indian groups will have eight seats in the Congress, and for the first time Bolivians who live abroad will be able to vote at the elections.
