A bomb left in a bag near a mosque in central Baghdad killed three people and wounded 10
U.S. and Iraqi security forces are implementing a major security crackdown in Baghdad aimed at stemming sectarian violence but there has been little respite from car bombings and other insurgent attacks.
U.S. commanders have warned that as they take steps to stop car bombs, such as blocking off markets to traffic, insurgents could turn more frequently to suicide vests and other attacks that do not involve vehicles.
