Bosnian national killed in Afghanistan

According to local media reports, the attack against the US military base at Bagram in Parwan, claimed by the Taliban, occured at 4:00 am.

SARAJEVO, March 15, 2010 (AFP) - A Bosnian national who was working as a firefighter for a US company in Afghanistan was killed Monday in an attack on a US base there, national television reported.

Almir Bikovic, 32, was killed and five of his Bosnian colleagues were wounded in the attack, BHRT said.

According to local media reports, the attack against the US military base at Bagram in Parwan, claimed by the Taliban, occured at 4:00 am (0300 GMT).

Bosnia's foreign ministry did not comment the report immediately.

In December Sarajevo announced a plan to send this year a small contingent of its troops to serve with the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan.
