Bride Among Twelve Killed As Train Rams Car

No one on the train was injured, a spokesman for East Coast Railway told Reuters.

 A train rammed into a crowded jeep returning from a wedding celebration in eastern India on Sunday, killing 12 people including the bride, officials and eyewitnesses said.

An express train hit the car at a level crossing near Bargarh town, 380 km (240 miles) from Bhubaneswar, the capital of Orissa state, officials said.

"12 people were killed ... two others critically hurt," Pradeep Kapur, Orissa inspector general of police in charge of railway security told Reuters.

No one on the train was injured, a spokesman for East Coast Railway told Reuters.
