MANCHESTER, England, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Two brothers were charged Friday with killing a man whose burning decapitated body was discovered by firefighters in the Manchester, England, area.

Anthony Jenkins, 31, and Joseph Jenkins, 29, of Stockport, were scheduled to appear in magistrate's court Saturday, the Manchester Evening News reported.

The brothers were arrested early Thursday on suspicion of possessing shotgun cartridges before the body of John Grainger, 32, of Stockport was found in a parking lot nearby. An autopsy determined that Grainger, whose head was close to his body, died from a shotgun wound and being hit with a blunt object, and his head was cut off after death.

Investigators have released little information about the motive for the killing.

Grainger's family released a statement Friday: "John was a cheeky and loveable character who was a fantastic brother and uncle to his niece and nephews. He wanted to become a dad one day and was looking forward to what the future held."

The body was in the center of Stockport, an old manufacturing center that is struggling to remake itself.
