A bus skidded off a mountain road and fell into a gorge in northern India on Wednesday, killing 15 people and injuring an equal number.
Some of the injured passengers were still trapped inside the mangled bus and efforts were under way to extricate them, they said.
The accident took place at Kotkhai, some 55 km (34 miles) northeast of Shimla, capital of the mountain state of Himachal Pradesh.
Bus accidents on mountain roads are common in India, where highway regulations are poorly enforced. Last week, at least 22 people were killed and 14 injured when a bus skidded off a mountain road and plunged into a stream in Indian Kashmir.
