Documents contained personal information on Blair and the US agents also spied on former Iraqi president al-Yawer.
David Murfee Faulk, former intelligence officer, revealed that he has seen secret documents from 2006, which contained personal information on former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Telegraph writes.
American secret service agents spied on Blair during his term.
The British media assessed this fact as disgraceful for the American president whose second term is nearly over. Bush and Blair agreed to collaborate in war against terrorism, which implies that matters like mutual spying are absolutely out of the question.
Faulk has access to the database of American intelligence agents and the investigation was opened after it turned out that the American National Security Agency was wiretapping conversations of American citizens.
Nobody from Blair`s office commented on the spying information, while Faulk has not revealed any details about what he saw in the documents.
Faulk said that American agents spied on Ghazi al-Yawer as well, the first Iraqi president after the American invasion. The former intelligence officer said he heard a conversation between Yawer and his fiancée, who became his wife later on.
