On May 18, 1927 in Township, Michigan, three bombs exploded in the Bath school, killing 45.
The explosions injured 58 people. Most victims were children.
The perpetrator was a member of the school committee, Andrew Kehoe. He was angry because of the taxes that was to be paid for the construction of a new school building. He believed that the additional tax was the cause for his farm going under.
The morning of the attack Kehoe first killed his wife and then set fore to the farm buildings. He set up bombs in the school and exploded them, killing himself and 45 other victims.
The Bath school attack is the bloodiest massacre in an American school in history.
