Charles Darwin received a letter from Alfred Russel Wallace who encouraged him to publish his evolution theory.
On June 18, 1858 Charles Darwin received a letter from Alfred Russel Wallace that contains similar conclusions to those in Darwin’s theory of evolution. This spurred Darwin to publish his theory, which he did in his book “On the Origin of Species” a year later.
