Citroen Redesigns Borders Of Ex Yugoslavia

Text

Bosnia-Herzegovina does not even exist in the disputable map and Croatia is in its place.

French auto manufacturer Citroen has apologised for printing maps which have entirely redesigned the borders of former Yugoslav countries, Bosnia-Herzegovina`s Foreign Affairs Ministry announced.

Citroen managing director Frederic Banzet has sent a letter of apology to the BH Embassy in Paris, expressing regret over the map which was included in Citroen promotional material for 2010.

Bosnia-Herzegovina does not even exist in the disputable map and Croatia is in its place. However, a part of Croatian territory was given to Slovenia, including the border with Serbia in the East. Citroen ignored the existence of Montenegro and gave its territory to Serbia, along with an exit to the Adriatic Sea. Kosovo is also not on the map.

BH Ministry said that Banzet has informed them and stopped distribution of the disputable material as the ministry severely protested against such a map.

However, the Balkans are not the only region where Citroen went wrong. Malta seemed bigger than Corsica, Moldavia got an exit to the Black Sea and Russia lost Kaliningrad.
