A cleaner in a hospital in England was fired for whistling in front of the room of a mental patient suffering from whistling phobia.
Phil Blake, 42, a cleaner at the Broadmoor top-security hospital in England, got fired because he
annoyed a mental patient, Robert Buckland, 29, who has been hospitalised since 1998, with his whistling.
Sacked for ‘gross misconduct’
Blake’s whistling as he was cleaning the hall next to Buckland’s room aggravated the psychopath so much that he attacked a nurse.
A disciplinary commission decided to fire Blake after he had been forking at the hospital for seven years for ‘gross misconduct’, The Sun reported.
The cleaner said he will appeal the ruling because nobody had told him that Buckland, who attacked a woman by plunging a knife into her skull in 1998, had a phobia about whistling.
