Thai judges said on Wednesday the party of ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was guilty of the first of two charges of election breaches which could see his party disbanded and its top officials barred from politics.
The court found the Thai Rak Thai (Thais Love Thais) party guilty of paying two small parties to bribe an election official to falsify their membership records.
The judges were due to give their ruling on the second charge accusing two aides of a Thai Rak Thai official of paying another small party to run in the election, which was boycotted by the main opposition and later annulled.
